75004 Z-95 Review

Hi all, sorry for the long delay between articles. As most of you would know, the school term is coming to a close and the End-Of-Year Exams are getting nearer and nearer. As such, I’ll be cutting back on the posts, and shortening most of them until my exams are over in mid-late October. (Because any future LEGO purchases ride heavily on my results)

So without further ado, today’s post will be another set review, this time featuring LEGO Star Wars 75004 Z-95 Headhunter.

This set was released last year, as part of the December-January (2012-2013) wave of LEGO Sets. It contains 373 Pieces, 3 MInifigures and retails in the USA and EU for $49.99, and here in Singapore for SGD $89.90 or so.

Hi all, just a quick update!

I was browsing the usual LEGO Sites and found this really interesting piece of news:

Some LEGO Star Wars 2015 Set Details
Posted: 23 Aug 2014 10:52 PM PDT

Hulk_Smash on over Eurobricks has given details on some of the new 2015 LEGO Star Wars sets that we reported on last week. The details are fairly vague due to the person describing the sets from memory. Again, the details are from prelimary pictures from a retailer catalog.

Imperial Troop Transport (75078) – Similar to the Imperial Landing Craft (7659) from 2007. There are four Stormtroopers.

Shadow Troopers (75079) – Includes a small vehicle. Battle pack includes two Dark Guards which I assume could be the Emperor’s Shadow Guards and two Shadow Troopers.

AAT (75080) – Jar Jar Binks makes his return in a LEGO Star Wars set. There will also be another Gungan minifigure. No mentioning if it’s just a generic Gungan or a major character like Boss Nass or Captain Roos Tarpals. The set also has a Battle Droid. Retail price is about £25.

T-16 Skyhopper (75081) – Comes with some sort of pilot minifigure, a Tusken Raider, and a womp rat.

Geonosis Troopers (75089) – Includes a small AT-RT. Clone Troopers are the same as the Kashyyyk Troopers (75035), but with a sandy brown color.

LEGO Star Wars 75058 MTT Found!

Hi all, just a quick update regarding one of the new LEGO Star Wars sets for the 2014 Summer Wave.

Photo Credits to my Younger Brother

Just yesterday, I was notified by my younger brother that he had found the new LEGO Star Wars MTT (Multi Troop Transport). The set was spotted at the Toys “R” Us store at United Square Shopping Centre.

As this was found at a Toys “R” Us store, and the fact that it is reported to be a retailer exclusive in the United States of America, I think it is safe to assume that other Toys “R” Us outlets in Singapore should have it in stock as well, much like the 75025 Jedi Defender-Class Cruiser and the recent 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship.

75002 AT-RT Review

Hi All! It’s the weekend again! I’m back today with another LEGO Star Wars Set Review, for 75002 AT-RT!

Before we delve into the review itself, I’d like to make a quick update that from now on, my reviews are gonna be shorter than the previous ones, and before I get any questions regarding why, this is because of school, with the sudden onslaught of revision and homework as it gets nearer to my EOY Exams.

As such, in order to make it possible to keep churning out articles as frequently, I’m gonna have to shorten them by some. This is also partially because I want to get to the new 2014 sets as soon as possible!

So without further ado, lets get on with the review!

The set 75002 AT-RT was released in January 2013, as part of LEGO’s “Winter” Wave of LEGO Star Wars sets. It consists of 222 pieces, 4 minifigures and retails here in Singapore for $50.90, and in the US and UK for $19.99 (again, an excellent example of the price gap).

In case you were wondering, AT-RT stands for All Terrain Recon Transport, and appears in Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith for a brief moment, and was heavily featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon series. The AT-RT is also the precursor to the much larger AT-ST seen in Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.

I bought this set at a great discount of just USD $15.99 (SGD $20.00) from Amazon a year back, and had it shipped to a friend in the USA, who unboxed it and brought it back to Singapore. Unfortunately, in transit, he misplaced the stickers (not that I mind, I hate stickers anyway).

Toys R' Us SALE 15/8/14-17/8/14

Hi All! It's just 1 more day to the weekend! And to top off this week, I bring news of a Toys R' Us Sale, happening this weekend at City Square Mall.

©Toys "R" Us, Inc.

This weekend, local toys retailer Toys R' Us will be holding a "Branded Toys" Sale, at the City Square Mall's Atrium. Local sources have reported that LEGO is among the products on sale, particularly sets from the City (No Arctic), Chima, Ninjago, Star Wars and Creator Themes!

These sets look like they'll be having the traditional Toys R' Us fixed-price discount, which means it can go both ways for most of the sets there, either being really good sale deals, or totally overpriced items.

Maybe I'll head down this weekend just to check it out, but I probably won't be buying anything (still saving for my HK trip, hehe), and besides, I still have school to contend with.

Have a nice weekend!

Robinsons SALE 13/8/14-16/8/14

Hi All! I’ve just got news of an upcoming Robinsons Sale happening this week! Unfortunately, this sale is limited to Robinsons OCBC Cardmembers, so for those of us without the membership, you're gonna have to give this one a miss.

The sale is a typical Robinsons Closed-Door event, open only to Robinsons Cardmembers. At the sale itself, there will be staff members posted outside the entrances, to check your Robinsons Card, and hand out the shopping vouchers that Members are entitled to.

As you can see from the image above, the sale will run on 3 days, with a different venue each day. The stores will run the sale from 10:30am to 11:00pm each day. The respective Venues are: Robinsons Orchard, Wednesday 13th August; Robinsons Raffles City, Thursday 14th August; Robinsons Jem, Saturday 16th August.

These are the vouchers they will be giving out:

$10 off with $100 spent
$30 off with $180 spent
$60 off with $300 spent

Also, I came across this particular nugget while browsing their Sale Catalog

The new LEGO Simpsons House! This is retailing for $399.90 at Robinsons, and they are giving away a free LEGO City Play Scene Sticker Set with your purchase!

For those of you who are going down, I have read the fine print on the vouchers, so it seems that LEGO is eligible for the discount vouchers this time around. So by my calculations, buying the Simpsons House would cost you about $339 before the rebate is applied, and around $300 after the rebate.

Have a Happy National Day Weekend!!

Special Feature: 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack Review

Hi all! I hope you've been having a great week leading up to the National Day Holiday this weekend! Today I have something special for all of you, my first ever “Throwback Review” of one of my older LEGO Star Wars Sets!

This is the first time i’m reviewing an old set of mine, and I will definitely be doing this more in the future, hopefully as a monthly feature here on my blog, to cover all the LEGO Star Wars sets in my collection, but they will probably be more personal, and shorter on the review aspect. So without further ado, introducing, the 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack!

This set contains a measly 68 pieces and comes with 4 identical Mandalorian soldiers from Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV Show. This set was released in early 2011, and was retired from LEGO Shop@Home in December 2012. The set retailed for USD $12.99 as most Battle Packs do, and was sold here in Singapore for around SGD $27.90.

LEGO Online Shopping!

Hi all, it’s the weekend again! It’s been a really busy week for me, with all my revision for upcoming tests and such, so you may not see as many blog posts here for the next week or so, until the National Day Holiday. This time, I’m gonna be writing about something most of us LEGO fans do: Online LEGO Shopping!

©The Lego Group

As many of you know by now, I’m still a teen, and a student at that. As such, I have a limited spending budget for LEGO which is dependent on how much I scrimp and save every week. Hence, I’m always going around looking for the best deals, be it online or at physical shops. And most of the time, I find the best deals online.

So without further ado, below is a list of sites I use when I buy my LEGO Online!
