Hi all, it’s the weekend again! It’s been a really busy week for me, with all my revision for upcoming tests and such, so you may not see as many blog posts here for the next week or so, until the National Day Holiday. This time, I’m gonna be writing about something most of us LEGO fans do: Online LEGO Shopping!

As many of you know by now, I’m still a teen, and a student at that. As such, I have a limited spending budget for LEGO which is dependent on how much I scrimp and save every week. Hence, I’m always going around looking for the best deals, be it online or at physical shops. And most of the time, I find the best deals online.
So without further ado, below is a list of sites I use when I buy my LEGO Online!
1. LEGO Shop@Home!

This is my preferred website for buying LEGO Online, but not the site that I use the most for my purchases. LEGO Shop@Home is a great site though, because its run directly by LEGO, and all the various VIP rewards and giveaways that it has every now and then.
Every few months or so, LEGO Shop@Home organizes a special giveaway sort of promotion, offering a Limited Edition LEGO Polybag with a minimum purchase of $50-$75 or so from a certain theme of LEGO Products. Currently they're running a free giveaway of the LEGO Creator Mini Cooper Polybag, in conjunction with the release of the NEW Full-sized LEGO Creator Mini Cooper.
In the past, they've also released Limited Edition LEGO Star Wars Polybags for May the 4th, and other random occasions.

In addition, VIP Members also get exclusive access to special exclusive sets earlier than regular customers! And on top of that, they also get a 5% rebate for every $100 spent on their site!
Well, now you can probably see why I like this site so much!
However, LEGO Shop@Home currently only ships within the Continental USA, as well as certain countries in Europe, so you really can’t purchase anything with it unless you use an expensive freight forwarder, or through a friend overseas.
You can visit their online shop here: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/
2. Amazon!

This is another one of the websites I use when buying LEGO, and it is the main one that I use to purchase my LEGO from Overseas. Although Amazon doesn’t have the same variety of exclusive sets or promotional items, they do have constant discounts, meaning you can always expect them to have lower prices than the LEGO Shop@Home.
In addition, Amazon has the added bonus of free GlobalSaver Shipping for purchases above USD $125! Given that the USA LEGO Prices are nearly half of those here, this makes this a really affordable option for us LEGO Collectors.
However, the downside of Amazon is that it often takes 2-4 weeks for a shipment to arrive, and you would need to spend USD $125 at one go, making it not very useful for a person like me with a small budget, and other collectors who want specific sets that are LEGO Exclusive and not sold by Amazon.
3. eBay!

eBay is quite the wildcard on this list, being an open marketplace for sellers to advertise their items for sale. The deals you get from eBay are really dependent on the Seller, with most sellers being open Negotiation and Bargaining for larger purchases as is the norm in Singapore.
The benefit of eBay is that you can often get your items immediately due to the items being sold by a local, as well as the prices being lower than regional market prices (though not as low as overseas).
Also, eBay is one of the few places online and in stores that actually sell individual minifigures and polybags, the latter being very rare in Singapore, and only available at mono-brand LEGO shops that sell them for rather high prices of $15 on average.
On a side note, eBay is a great platform to pickup LEGO Store exclusives such as this year’s May the 4th Darth Revan that was only available from LEGO, and SDCC 2014’s Exclusive Unikitty.
4. Bricklink!
Last but definitely not least, Bricklink! I’m sure many of the more “seasoned” LEGO Collectors would have heard of this site at least once, with it being one of the most popular LEGO Marketplace sites locally and internationally.
Bricklink is similar to eBay, in which it is organized into different Stores as Sellers of LEGO, and a quick search of a particular item would yield entire lists of the item sold by different stores each with different quantities available and different prices.
What truly makes Bricklink unique, is that it is one of the cheapest and most efficient ways to buy specific LEGO parts and pieces locally, with a wide variety of LEGO elements available, from a 1x1 trans-clear stud, to technic pins and LEGO Star Wars Clone Trooper Helmets.
So thats all for this entry! I’ll be posting more on LEGO Shopping in the future, so do check back soon!
