Hi All! Hope you’re having a great week! I came across an interesting piece of news on several LEGO Fan-sites and Facebook Pages. Introducing, the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series Slave I!

So far, the only information we have is the box art, images of the build and the minifigures, and still no idea when its slated to be released or how much it’ll cost. The release date could range from anywhere in the next month as a late Exclusive addition to the Summer Wave, or even May 2015 as LEGO’s May 4th Release set, much like this year’s 75059 Sandcrawler.
The set contains 1996 Pieces, which is pretty OK compared to the 3200+ of the Sandcrawler, and comes with 5 Minifigures, Boba Fett, Han Solo in person and in Carbonite, a Bespin Guard and a Stormtrooper.

As you can see, almost every Minifigure in this set is exclusive, except the Stormtrooper which was also featured in this year’s Star Destroyer. Boba Fett is back, with beautiful arm printing with a LOT of details on him. Han Solo is a new variant, but neither of them are things we haven’t seen before. The Bespin Guard is a wonderful addition, considering the last time we got one was way back, and this new release looks really good.
Out of the 5, only the Stormtrooper seems a bit forced, kind of thrown into the mix just to add some more appeal for us Trooper-lovers

I’ve nothing much to say about the build itself, but for now, it looks pretty good.

My guess is, this set will probably retail for around USD $240, since its piece count is in between that of the USD $300 Sandcrawler and the USD $200 Red Five X-Wing, meaning it’ll be somewhere around SGD $450 here in Singapore.
Personally, this is definitely a set I would have to pick up. I’ve never really entertained the thought of collecting UCS sets, but the recent releases of the Sandcrawler, X-Wing and now the Slave I HAVE ALREADY made me change my mind.
I’m really hoping to get the 3 of the above sets, maybe at a sale or so from overseas or local, at least that won’t burn too big a hole in my pants.
So what do you think?
