HK December 2014 Trip Review: BRICKSTIME

Oh well I'm back again to start off the new school year by going back to my wonderful memories of Hong Kong back in December 2014. This is my second post regarding my December Trip, the first one being an introduction, and this will cover the LEGO Monobrand Store chain known as BRICKSTIME. They operate an Online Store and Website, which you can check out here.

BRICKSTIME is a chain of LEGO Monobrand Stores that has outlets around Hong Kong. During my trip I visited all of their outlets, the first of which was at The ONE Mall along Nathan Road in Kowloon (Nearest MTR is Tsim Tsa Shui) and the store at Hysan Place in Causeway Bay (Nearest MTR is Causeway Bay). Both of these stores were relatively small, but had an impressive range of products despite the limited shelf space.

Just to be clear, I didn't buy anything from either of these shops (I spent all my cash on In's Point) but there were a lot of items that I would have bought if I had more money to spend.

BRICKSTIME operates like any other local Monobrand Store chain, and bears the greatest similarity to the Secret Chamber chain of local LEGO Shops. They carry a number of exclusives, UCS and retired sets which is similar to Secret Chamber, but they do not do consignment for 3rd party sellers. I am not too sure if they have any membership programme, but I usually don't bother asking unless I have a local address I can use for the sign-up.

While I was there in early December, I noticed that like most LEGO Shops they were already sold-out of the LEGO Advent Calendars. Instead, they surprisingly had the entire Winter Village theme including the LEGO Exclusive giveaway products. On top of that, they had a a number of UCS Batman Tumblers, UCS R2-D2s, UCS Imperial Shuttle, both Volkswagen LEGO Models and the CREATOR Expert Sydney Opera House.

And especially since I am a Star Wars collector, I noticed several retired LEGO sets tucked away behind some of the newer sets. These included a pretty old variant of the AAT, Hoth Echo Base and the 2011 and 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendars.

Just like Secret Chamber, BRICKSTIME also stocks Polybags.

They had a pretty wide variety of Polybags, and I can say that I would have swiped all the Star Wars ones if my wallet weren't so empty. Unfortunately, the prices of polybags here were super high, the cheapest being HKD $149. For those of you with more money than I have, and are on the hunt for rare polybags, then this is the place to go.

So, I guess thats it for this entry. Now its time for me to go to LEGO's website to get my fill of the new 2015 Star Wars sets. Look out for my next post on HK Toys R Us!
